Sables d'Olonne is situated 250 Km South from Carnac. An easy drive on 4 lane road all the way. The photo show the South beach and the town in the back ground.

There are several camp sites in this area. The Michelin camping guide for France has a small map that shows how they are situated. If you follow the D 80 North, you find some of them just outside the town. La Dune des Sable is another one along the coast, with direct access to a beach. It is situated just outside the town to the North.

If you follow the costal road south, you get soon loose the feeling of being near a bigger town. After 10 Km, you reach Plage de Villon.  Apart from this special beach there is a yacht marina and a golf course. An old sleepy coastal resort being developed.
