The town along
Mimizan beach is a
pleasant sea side resort. Large enough to provide a good selection of
restaurants and bars. A market for shopping and a beach which is
considered one of the best. Both for sun tanning but also as a water
sport centre. Here mainly thinking about surfing.
Surf schools and
equipment renting is possible several places. On the North beach you
find the surf beginner training, very busy even by end of September.
At mid tide you have a near perfect learning condition here. The tourist office web site
lists the schools under activities.
There is a camping
site
www.mimizan/camping.com 300 metres from the town centre. Very comfortable with electricity,
water tap and drain for grey water on the pitches. You can also get a Wi
Fi connection. Due to the popularity of this place a reservation is
needed during the high season. Which is July to end August. This site is
closing end of September.
At the south end of town there is a parking for auto campers. You can
take on water and dump waste water. Both grey and black. This parking is
offered from 15 Sept until 14 June. Price is 6 Euro 24 for hour. There
is a ticket machine.
Due to the low cost airline, Mimizan beach and the region around has
started to draw attention to second home property buyers. Smart
waterfront apartment blocks have been build, and there is a good choice
is small villa type accommodation.
