Lacanau Ocean beach is the leading surf resort in the Northern part of Aquitane. The first thing you notice when you visit the resort is the large amount of surf schools, as well of the large amounts of bars and restaurants.

This place is full of life during the month of July and August. Quieting down on either side of the high season.

The best surf season is considered September and October. Call it September if you need a camp site, because the close by end of that month.

The Lacanau Ocean beach is divided in the North part, the central and the South part. At the North part there is a large parking and a 4 star campsite with direct access to the beach. www.legrandspins.com

The central part is in front of the town centre. Here you need to pay to park during the season.

The south part of Lacanau Ocean beach is the most quiet one. There is only limited parking space. The best is to rent a bike, if you want to go there regularly. Just at the entrance to the beach there is a surf school.

Several shops rent out equipment, and do you need to purchase parts you are in the right place.

Lacanau Ocean beach have been host to several international surf competition. For 24 hour full action, just remember night life is decimated once the season is over.
