Contis les Bains,
(Contis Plage) ,
is 13 Km South from Mimizan Plage. There is a road along the coast, but
it seem to be for bicycling only. In a car you take a small detour via
the village called Bias. Contis les Bains is a small seaside resort.
Full alive for a few month during the summer and by mid September closed
down waiting for the next season.
At the South end
of the place there is a parking for auto campers. By end of September,
you saw a small group and they actually had found themselves a nice
spot.
Shops looked all
closed up, so for a drive of some 10 Km. is needed to get provisions. In
the small town inland you find quite large super markets.
Close to the small
group of houses there is a large camping site
www.lous-seurrots.com.
It is situated in the
shade of the tall pine trees that you find in this region. Something
that can be very welcoming during hot summer month.
In the village at the coast there is a selection of bars and
restaurants. There is a surf school, as on any beach resort and a few
shops opened during the season.
Along the beach
there is a parking, so you can bring your surfboards on top of your car
almost right to the beach.
Expect the
place to be very busy during the high season 7 July to 20 August, and
make reservations beforehand.
