Romoe
is connected to Jutland by a long dam.
It used to be a place with only few means to gain a living, Manny
took work on commercial cargo vessels. Sometimes they would stay away
for years. Map
The
beach at Romoe is very wide. You can take your car and drive on the
beach. On a windy day, bring something to shelter behind.
The
main entrance to the beach. Here you find shops, a super market and a
camping site. The camp site is very small.
On
the south side of the island there is a commercial harbour. You find
fishing vessels and small ferry to Sylt. This area of Denmark is not
visited a lot by yachts due to the general lack of harbours and weather
with often strong on shore winds.
