Praestoe is a small town on the island of Sjaelland. It is one hour drive from Copenhagen. There is a small harbour, and visiting yachts are very welcome. The entrance to the fjord is narrow and you must keep within the buoyed canal. One of the new features is free wireless internet.  View large photo   Map
 

The tourist office is located next to the post office. They can supply information about the area. They also manage a limited number of summer cottages for rent. There is a large supermarket 500 metres from the harbour. In the main street you find more shops, and a hardware store is to be found as well.   View large photo
 

To get to the nearest beach you must drive around the fjord or use the shuttle boat that takes you to Feddet beach. ( Summer only ).  At the beach, witch is several kilometres long, you find a large camping site. Here it is possible to rent small cottages and caravans. The place is busy during the high season, which is from end of June until mid August.     View large photo
